In Joan's own words

I have lived on Liverpool Road since 2005 and love the opportunities it presents to live in a modern, dynamic city while developing a connection with the community around me.

I was first elected as a City Centre Councillor in 2012 and re-elected in 2016. I was elected to the new Deansgate Ward in 2018. In my six years as a Councillor, I’ve concentrated on improving the ways the various city centre stakeholders operate, so that ours is a liveable city while losing none of its liveliness and energy. I’ve represented residents at Planning and Licensing hearings, not to stall development, but ensure that we can all work together.
