Nigel Jones

Liberal Democrats candidate for Thistleberry

Active on State

Liberal Democrats

I was a councillor for Thistleberry from 2002 to 2015 and stood here again in the last borough council elections coming a good second. I want more council support for our community centres and youth activities, more community policing community health care, better social care and more local control over highway maintenance. With government reorganisation of local councils there must be a role for a council based in Newcastle; as a nation we are too heavily governed by Whitehall. We need more housing in the Borough but we must and can do this while preserving the green character of our area, with access to public green space for everyone.
