In Nasreen's own words

I have lived in Oxford since I was four, first in North Oxford then in East Oxford. I attended the excellent Cherwell School. I have raised four children, who attended schools in East and North Oxford. I am a proud Oxonian, appreciating the architecture and varied options for art and culture. I consider myself a sort of “Godmother for Oxford” promoting our great City to visitors.

After completing an MPhil in Physiology, I trained as a chartered accountant, and now work as a tax adviser. I also run a small property business. I have developed many transferable skills that would benefit work as a County councillor. For example, scrutinising financial reports and forecasting.

Since moving to Marston eight years ago, I have noticed a steady and deeply troubling deterioration in basic amenities for Oxford residents. Both councils appear to happily sign off to spend millions to fix things that are not broken, and put in place damaging schemes. Yet there is no money to do basic things - maintain our roads, clean our streets, cut the grass, pick up autumn leaves. Both councils are comprehensively failing in their duty of care or any service level agreement

I can no longer stand by and allow the incumbents to damage our city further. Hence I am standing as your independent candidate in the Marston & Northway Division. If I am fortunate to be elected, I will work to remove the LTNs that have damaged the lives of so many residents and businesses. I will stop the impending traffic filters and bus gates. I will do all I can to get the failing County departments to fulfil their duty of care to residents and businesses in Marston & Northway.
