I have lived in Southwark all of my adult life, I love my patch, and I want to give something back to the area that has let me grow and supported me. We deserve better. Better services by the council, better maintenance of social housing, better planning and licensing, better value for the money we all pay. We need accountable and effective leadership, and I will stand for integrity, social justice and pragmatism. Funding from Westminster has been reduced in real terms over the past decade and more, but we need to make sure that the resources we do have are spent in the most effective way possible, and targeted towards those who need them most. We can't have glass high rises next to homelessness, luxury flats with no affordable housing, we need to do better.
