“Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. I am not a career politician, and I do not feel fully represented by any existing political party. That is why I am standing as the only **Independent** candidate in this election. None of the other candidates even have election agents in Barnes. My background is in software engineering, and I believe that practical thinking, transparency, and independence can bring real value to local decision making.”

“I would be honoured to serve as a councillor for Barnes Ward. When all three representatives come from the same party, it can limit perspective. An independent voice helps keep local government balanced, accountable, and focused on residents rather than party lines. Coming from outside the political world, I can offer a fresh, unbiased view on how to improve life in our community. Barnes is my home, and I care deeply about making our lives here more comfortable.”

“**My positions on key local issues**:”

“1. **Affordable housing** Affordable housing is essential, but we must also ensure the system is not misused and that support reaches those who genuinely need it.”

“2. **Waste and fly tipping** We should prioritise identifying and penalising offenders rather than introducing measures that inconvenience responsible residents.”

“3. **Hammersmith Bridge** I support reopening the bridge for public transport to improve connectivity and reduce pressure on surrounding areas.”

“4. **Intrazone commuting and parking** Residents should not have to fight for years for the right to park near their homes, as happened with the Zone B extension. Local policies should work with residents, not against them.”

“5. **Council tax** Council tax is just too high. These resources should be spent wisely.”

“6. **Secondary school** We need to have one in close proximity for our local students.”
