Labour candidate for Shirley East
Gerard is a local resident, having lived in the Shirley East ward for 30 years with his wife who was born in Solihull. He has two children who, although now grown up, benefited from the excellent schooling afforded in the locality. Working in financial services for 38 years has helped Gerard to appreciate the value of a secure home and standard of living, and as a parent, the benefits of a good education and access to good health care. If elected he will be campaigning for these basic fundamental rights for all residents. GERARD’S PLEDGES: WORK FOR ALL LOCAL RESIDENTS – irrespective of where they live or who they vote for. BETTER GP SERVICES – everyone deserves equal access to decent medical care through their GPs. I will make this a priority. FUNDING FOR LOCAL SCHOOLS – our children should be educated to the highest standard irrespective of wealth or status. AFFORDABLE HOUSING – we need a much better balance of housing to provide for young families as well as retirement homes.
