Green Party

Dave Pearson has spent much of his life in Northamptonshire - he studied at Hackleton Primary School and Northampton Grammar School for Boys, before completing a degree in Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Salford. Dave still lives in Northampton with his wife Sue (our other co-chair), and they spend much of their time with their children and grandchildren. Dave has a racked up wide range of experience, having spent 34 years working in various aspects of international development across several countries. He served on the board of directors for four different charities, and for eleven years he was a Permanent Representative to UNESCO, working with ambassadors, government ministers and international administrators on policy issues related to education and culture. Dave is now a self-employed handyman and enjoys meeting and working with all sorts of people. For several years Dave volunteered with Northampton’s Street Pastors: a uniformed inter-church group that patrols the town centre late on a Saturday night to help the homeless and vulnerable. More recently Dave has campaigned on the underestimated problem of air pollution, and founded and co-ordinates 'Clean Air Northamptonshire', which was integral in forcing West Northants Council to put an Air Quality Action Plan in place when they were not meeting their legal obligation to do so. Dave currently serves as the Treasurer of the West Northamptonshire Climate and Nature Partnership, and has a particular interest in how climate relates to food security.
