Tahir has lived in the constituency for over ten years in Birkenshaw where he is married with two daughters; Jasmine aged 6 and Layla 2. He works in football development and also volunteers his time coaching the girls under 7s side at Birkenshaw Primary School.  Speaking after his selection as a candidate, Tahir said: "I'm passionate about climate change and social equality, which is why I am standing for the Greens; the only political party genuinely committed to tacking the climate emergency and bringing about the social justice this country so desperately needs.
