In Claire's own words

I’m Claire Parris and I’m proud to be standing as your Labour Candidate for the St Nicholas County Council Division election on Thursday 1st May.

I was born and raised in Stevenage and I take pride in calling St Nicholas my home.

The current Conservative County Councillor has been unseen and unbothered.

He’s let down my area. My home.

But I know what real public service looks like.

I work for our NHS, at the Lister, and I’ve served our community as a Borough Councillor for the past 6 years.

For too long, the Conservative-run County Council have let down our residents and schools and left roads, transport and social care to deteriorate. We all deserve so much better. It’s time to Heart Herts!

I want to be your champion on the County Council, fixing these issues one by one. It’s time to vote for change. And you can read my plan for change below!

My plan for change in our area

1. Tackle the Cost of Living Crisis - I’ll push the County Council to invest in Stevenage, boost our local economy and leave more money in your pocket.

2. Be your champion on the County Council - It’s time to move on from unseen, unbothered Conservative County Councillors and elect a Councillor who cares about our community.

3. Introduce a SEND taskforce - We’ll set up a SEND taskforce of parents, schools and representatives to address the mess left by the Conservative County Council.

4. Crack down on anti-social behaviour - We’ll introduce a zero tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour, from enforcing fly-tipping fines to ensuring rapid police responses.

5. Finally fix Potholes - We’ll establish a road and transport improvement plan to tackle potholes and ensure we have reliable, affordable public transport.
