Green Party

I am Stephen Andrews, and I am standing as your local Green Party candidate for Spital Ward. This by-election comes at a crucial time for Tamworth; we are about to see the largest change in how our council is run and how services are delivered in a generation. At a moment like this, Spital needs a strong, local voice that listens to residents, stands up for the community, and puts people first. For too long, residents have been let down by the two-party system. The Conservatives and Labour have both failed to deliver for Tamworth. Reform are no different: they have no policies for Spital and no plan for Tamworth. I believe that we deserve better. We deserve honest representation that puts Tamworth first and prioritises our future. I look at Spital and the failure of the past few years is evident: • You see the pain that leaseholders have on your everyday lives. • You see the failure of the Government to hold water companies to account for pollution in our rivers and crumbling infrastructure, leading to floods that we’re all too familiar with. • You see the potential negative implications of new developments being built. Instead, I want to be the voice to work towards change: • I will advocate for the end of the leasehold system; and work with residents who are struggling with getting essential repairs done. • I will put pressure on the water companies, making sure they are held accountable. • I will research, question, and challenge all new developments, ensuring the town’s best interests are at heart. I am ready to put in the work to ensure that every voice is heard; together, we can make this happen.
