In Alan's own words

My name is Alan, and I am proud to have been asked to stand as the Green Party candidate for the Cullercoats & Whitley Bay South ward. I have lived locally for nearly 40 years and value our vibrant community. It is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Having been a Mental Health Nurse for most of my life, I've seen that our wellbeing depends on having a sense of belonging, a secure home, financial stability and community support. I am committed to ensuring the council puts our wellbeing first in every decision, especially in these days of environmental crisis, rising living costs, and insecurity.

I have been a Green Party activist for some years now and, in this role, I have really enjoyed meeting people, hearing about their hopes and concerns and doing what I can to help. In past years, I have worked to improve children's services, protect our green spaces, and make our streets safer. If elected, I’ll be able to get even more done for our community.
