In Gay's own words

I am a retired nurse and midwife, having worked in palliative care for the last 20 years and prior to that as a midwife at Guys and St Thomas'. I’ve been active in the Green Party in Lambeth for about 5 years and love being involved in a campaign which has a well-thought-out strategy, realistic goals and is slowly but surely achieving them.

I also spend a lot of time and energy on campaigning for the NHS, locally and nationally - for more resources and on fighting back encroaching privatisation, and for more pay for NHS workers - so I’m still active in my union as a retired member.
