In James's own words

James O’Nions has spent his adult life campaigning for a world where people come before profit.

From privatisation to climate change, the power of big business and billionaires is a disaster for ordinary people. James works for an organisation that challenges that power, often in solidarity with people in Africa, Asia and Latin America. But as a resident of Lambeth for 12 years, he wants to make a difference closer to home too. That means opposing the way massive developers are reshaping the borough in the interests of the rich, and making sure everyone in Lambeth is treated with dignity and respect.

He’s passionate about making Lambeth a wildlife-friendly borough, with public space that improves the quality of our lives. But he’s also angry that local government funding has been decimated by successive governments, including Labour, hitting the most vulnerable hardest while making life worse for everyone. If elected, he would work with Green councillors around the country to push for spending cuts to be reversed.
