Lola Josephine Victoria Garratt
Green Party candidate for Camberwell Green
I moved to Camberwell when I was 3, from a flat off Walworth Road. I’ve seen local council services deteriorate here. Austerity hasn’t made anything more efficient, it’s just pushed financial burdens onto individuals and families. Diminishing the state's responsibility for necessary services. Taxes go up, and new fees are introduced, while the value and quality of services goes down. For me, well-being is the number one priority. It’s what politics is about. That means: - working with residents on community projects, - championing independent local business, - fighting government cuts, and - reassessing council contracts with private entities to make sure they’re fiscally responsible and working for the public good.
