“Gareth has spent his entire adult life living and working in West Lancashire, volunteering within the local community and campaigning for improvements to residents’ lives.”

“During his time as a councillor on West Lancashire Borough Council, Gareth has secured significant funding for projects and organisations across Burscough & Rufford including:”

“- £3million+ Burscough Sports Centre”

“- Canal towpath investment”

“- Holmeswood Play Area and MUGA”

“- Images of Burscough and surrounding areas”

“- Friends of Bescar Lane Station”

“Over the past ten years Gareth has campaigned for flood prevention improvements and against the closure of pumping stations across the Alt-Crossens catchment area. As LCC is the Lead Local Flood Authority, Gareth would prioritise this area of work, including keeping the pumping stations operational, considering the move to a Water Level Management Board, and protecting residents’ homes.”

“Aside from council, Gareth is Vice Chair of Knowsley Mutual Credit Union serving residents across Burscough & Rufford, he is both a primary and secondary school governor, supports SWLICAN (Independent Community Advice Network) and is a member of West Lancashire’s community renewable energy group – setup to reduce energy costs and invest in our community.”
