“Hi I’m Hayley, and I’m truly honoured to be representing the Green Party in the upcoming local elections! I attended school in Standish and bought my first home here with my partner, where we live with our two boys. I’m a local small business owner working as a portrait artist. I love where I live, and I’m passionate about making sure Standish remains a wonderful village to live in.”

“As a Green Party councillor I have complete autonomy and will be a clear, honest spokesperson for our community. Standish currently has two Labour councillors and I will be standing to replace a third councillor, currently Conservative. If chosen to represent Standish, I will be the first Green councillor in a Labour majority council, a councillor that will hold Labour accountable and fight for our ward. Our green spaces are valued so highly by us yet the Labour run council has sold us out to developers, ruined our roads with potholes, filled our village with traffic and filled our schools, doctors surgery and dentists to the brim. Whilst we welcome the many new families into our community, the speed at which developments are being approved in Standish is not only seeing our fields and forests decimated, threatening local wildlife and native plants, but developers are not being held to account when it comes to supplying the infrastructure needed to sustain the rapidly increasing population. Development should work for our community, not against it. Too often, housing has been approved faster than the roads, school places and healthcare capacity needed to support it. Our green spaces and wildlife deserve protection. Residents, new and long-standing, deserve infrastructure that keeps pace with growth.”
