Councillor Candidate

Lorraine Estelle

Green Party candidate for St Bartholomew

Active on State

Green Party

Lorraine has been an active and dedicated member of the Green Party for several years. Living in the heart of the St. Bartholomew area, she has a first-hand view of the challenges and opportunities that affect Winchester residents daily. When news broke that the University of Southampton had withdrawn from plans to redevelop the River Park Leisure Centre, Lorraine acted swiftly. Within 24 hours, she had organised a community stall outside the Centre, inviting local people to share their thoughts on what should happen next. The response was fantastic. Lorraine is deeply involved in city life. She volunteers as a tour guide at Winchester Cathedral and regularly leads historical walks around the city and surrounding areas, sharing her passion for local heritage. Lorraine says: "I hear growing concerns about our throwaway culture. People tell me they want to see practical, local initiatives to reduce waste and encourage reuse. They’re also calling for stronger action to support walking, cycling, and reliable public transport, along with more accessible and affordable renewable energy." "By truly listening to our communities and working through the political system, the Green Party can help drive meaningful change on these urgent issues.
