In Penny's own words

Penny has been living in Witney since 2000, and a member of the Green Party for about 10 years. Now retired, she taught mainly in Primary schools, including West Witney, although most of her work was in Oxford. She is incensed about injustice in all its forms. The increasing gap between rich and poor concerns her very much. Her passion for Human Rights has led her to be an active member of Amnesty International for most of her adult life. Her other great interest is in the Environment. She supports the Wildlife Trust and the RSPB. She is concerned about habitat preservation and sustainable farming, and feels very strongly about food waste. Litter and fly-tipping are other issues that need to be addressed. She strongly believes in public transport and safe cycling. The Covid restrictions have benefitted big retailers at the expense of little shops. This is unfair and she would like to see more support for small businesses.
