Brenner Munden
Liberal Democrats councillor for Brentwood West
Active on State
Council: Brentwood
Term ends: 4 May 2028
I have lived in Brentwood my whole life. I studied politics at school and fell in love with the subject while doing so. I joined the Liberal Democrat’s while at school and stood as a paper candidate every year since I turned 18. I stood properly in the South Weald Ward, where I live, and narrowly lost the election. The councillor later resigned and I stood again in the ward, winning. My term was only for one year due to incoming boundary changes, but I generally enjoyed that year being a Councillor. Unfortunately, after the boundary changes, and the ward tripling in size, I lost my seat. Fast forward two years I was giving the opportunity to stand in a different ward, the neighbouring ward to where I live and a ward considered as a safe seat. I took this opportunity, and was thankful to be elected after a tough fight with Reform. Outside of politics, I am father, working in Local Government Finance, a huge football and music fan. I’m keen on protecting the environment, building houses to solve the housing crisis, improving the lives of residents and development and improve the local area, to make Brentwood a place people can be proud of. I’m also invested in getting younger people in politics. I served as President of the Young Liberals at University of Leicester and successfully grew our organisation. Working in Local Government Finance, I’m also well experienced in the finances of Local Government. I am member of the IRRV. In this term of council, I am vice chair of Assets and member of the Finance and Licensing Committee.
