Husam Alharahsheh

Green Party councillor for South Acton

Term started: 7 May 2026

Green Party

In 2025, I was elected to serve on the Green Party’s Policy Development Committee, where I work to develop practical, forward-looking policies. I am an enthusiastic academic, campaigner, and policy developer dedicated to making a positive impact. My education and research at leading UK universities including Oxford and Cambridge has focused on how institutions can become more accountable, effective, and responsive to public needs. Ealing has been my home for 15 years, I understand the challenges our residents face, from rising rents and housing costs to overdevelopment without sufficient infrastructure, air and water quality concerns, stretched local services, and limited opportunities for our young people. Many people feel the system is not working for them. Too often, decisions are made without proper scrutiny or meaningful consultation. Residents want genuinely affordable housing, clean streets, maintained green spaces, safe neighbourhoods, well-supported schools, and transparency in how taxpayers’ money is spent. Managing decline is not leadership. We need ambition and accountability. In 2022, the Green Party came second in this ward. Since then, we have grown strongly because more people recognise that real change is needed. We are now the credible alternative for those seeking hope, integrity, long-term thinking, and practical solutions. If we want meaningful change in Ealing, we need Green councillors demanding social justice, environmental responsibility and prioritising people. I will bring openness, scrutiny and evidence-based decision-making to South Acton and contribute to the wider Ealing alongside other Green elected councillors. I will listen carefully, and work tirelessly to make sure that local decisions genuinely reflect what our community needs. Please support me in South Acton and kindly encourage neighbours across Ealing to back Green candidates. Every conversation is valuable, and every vote truly makes a difference.
