**About Paul Treacy** Paul has called Waltham Forest home since 2014 and works in the charity sector, with a background in disability and health advocacy. Growing up working-class, he knows the anxiety of money being tight, and the cost-of-living crisis means that anxiety hasn’t gone away, for him or for many people in our community. The choice between heating and eating, accumulating debt, the feeling you’re one unexpected bill away from everything falling apart: these are the pressures he wants to address. Volunteering for Faiza Shaheen and Leanne Mohamed showed him what politics should look like (community-led, progressive, and above all, kind) and inspired him to stand in Grove Green. **What Paul Stands For** I’m standing for election because Waltham Forest needs a council that makes decisions with the community, not for it. A council that is open, transparent and accountable: one that serves the needs of residents, not political parties or the interests of property developers. That means tackling the cost-of-living pressures that disproportionately affect the most marginalised in our community, protecting local services, and ensuring every resident has a genuine voice in decisions that affect their lives. I want to see a Waltham Forest that is a fairer, healthier and greener place to live, and as a councillor, I would work hard to make that happen.
