Sarah Haithcock

Sarah Haithcock lives in East Chesterton and works at a local special educational needs school. She has dedicated her professional life to service and wishes to bring that same commitment to the City Council as your representative. As your councillor, she will continue to listen to your concerns, deliver practical solutions and make our area safer, greener and fairer. Having spoken with hundreds of residents, her key priorities for East Chesterton are: 1. Building strong and resilient communities She will work with the community and local authorities to tackle anti-social behaviour such as drug dealing, speeding, littering and fly tipping to make East Chesterton safe for everyone. 2. High quality homes for all residents She wants to support the building of a new generation of environmentally friendly and accessible council homes. She will support residents in need of housing and work with community groups, authorities and charities to tackle rough sleeping. She is committed to protecting renters rights and improving access to affordable homes. 3. Cheaper, easier and safer travel She will campaign for more frequent local buses, protected cycle lanes and safer pedestrian crossings. Sarah has been active in the community beyond her professional life. She has listened to hundreds of residents over recent years and supported individuals with their specific issues. Her work in the community includes: - Leading police walkabouts to identify anti-social behaviour hotspots with local authorities - Challenging the County Council on the dimming of streetlights across the city - Campaigning against cuts to holiday food vouchers for the most vulnerable children in our community
