Peter Harper
Conservative councillor for Finchampstead
Council: Wokingham
Term ends: 2 May 2030
I have lived in Finchampstead for over 10 years and in that time, I have come to appreciate the rural environment, the wildlife and the friendly people. It was to help protect the unique environment in Finchampstead that I stood for election 4 years ago and have demonstrated that I am willing to put in the time and effort to ensure we preserve this special area that we call home. Two years ago, I fought to stop a massive care home being built amongst the residential area on Lower Wokingham Road and I pushed for the Longwater Lane development to be refused. I have run a campaign to prevent Church Farm being turned into a housing estate and I have worked closely with the Parish Council to improve the old War Memorial junction to reduce the number of accidents. I will also work hard to ensure Rooks Nest Farm and the delayed Barkham Solar Farm are not developed for housing.
