Local Elections 2026 — Results

Over 5,000 council seats were contested across 136 English local authorities. Search by postcode, ward or candidate to see who won.

New Frankley parish: 12 candidates for 12 seats. Everyone won before anyone voted.

Reform went from 71 council seats to over 1,450 — in a single night.

The government tried to cancel 30 council elections. Reform sued, won the case, and three months later won most of those councils too.

Ellie Sandover, Keir Starmer's niece, is now a Labour councillor in Croydon.

Reform won an entire London borough. Havering is the first.

In Richmond upon Thames, the Lib Dems won every single seat. 51 out of 51. There is no opposition.

The Greens won their first ever English council — Norwich.

Sunderland, Wakefield, Thurrock — Labour heartlands for generations — all flipped to Reform with 80-point swings.

Rupert Lowe's new party ran 9 candidates in Great Yarmouth. They won all 9 — and blocked Reform from taking Norfolk outright.

In Sutton, the Lib Dems won 93% of the seats with 44% of the vote.
