Apply the 1.5p per mile levy on hybrid cars only on electric miles driven
From April 2028, the UK Government plans to introduce a mileage-based road tax of 1.5p per mile for hybrids, alongside Vehicle Excise Duty. Hybrids will also keep paying fuel duty when using petrol, meaning they are taxed twice, through fuel duty and the new mileage levy on all miles driven.

Review the national bus fare cap and reduce for shorter journeys. Currently the cap is £3 for a single, which means passengers may be paying £6 a day return. Reduce the cap for shorter journeys (under 5 miles) to £1.75 and freeze the current £3 limit for at least 3 years for journeys over 5 miles.
