Being 16 is still considered a child in the UK so how can a 16 year old take the responsibility of applying for PIP and to be knowledgeable about finances. To fill in complex forms is overwhelming for an adult let alone a 16 year old. You can’t drink alcohol until 18 so the laws should be the same.

Let people claim DLA past age 16 if caring for a non-Gillick Competent adult
Give the option for those who care for individuals with Severe, Profound, Complex Needs the option to remain on Disability Living Allowance beyond the age of 16. We believe this is needed due to ongoing issues with PIP reform
Reduce the Age of Majority from 18 to 16
The Government should amend the Family Law Reform Act 1969 and/or other current legislation so that the Age of Majority is reduced from 18 to 16.
Reduce the age at which people can open Individual Savings Accounts to 16
At 16 people can work and get a passport without parental consent. We believe that lowering the minimum age for adult ISAs will send a strong, positive message to younger generations about the power of saving and investing as well as giving young people access to the full benefits of the ISA regime.
Raise Bereavement Support Payment and extend beyond 18 months
Reform Bereavement Support Payment so families with and without dependent children receive help beyond 18 months, with annual uprating to reflect cost of living.
