We would like the current tax band system in this country to be abolished, in favour of a formulaic system, where tax is calculated from a starting income of £45,000, rising to a maximum income figure of around £250,000.

Introduce a new 30% tax rate for income earnings between £50,271 - £100,000

We ask the Government to introduce a new 30% income tax band that applies to earnings between £50,271 and £100,000. This could ensure a smoother, fairer progression in tax rates. Our aim is to create a more balanced, modern and equitable tax structure for middle-income earners.

We want the Government to abolish the effective Tax rate of 60% on income between £100,000 and £125,140, replacing it with a Tax band of 45% on income over £100,000 and removing the tapered withdrawal of Personal Allowance.

End the freeze on income tax thresholds & adjust annually, indexed to inflation

The fiscal drag hits lower- and middle-income earners the hardest. We call on the Government to unfreeze income tax thresholds and index them to inflation. We believe this will make the tax system fair, let workers keep a fairer share of their earnings, boost the economy, and help families.

Reduce income tax rate for parents

We want the government to change tack in tackling child poverty and our falling fertility rate by reducing the income tax rate of parents - for example by 0.5/1% for each parent for each child until they reach 18.

Introduce Progressive Taxation on Capital Gains

A proposal to introduce a progressive tax rate on capital gains, so that larger gains are taxed at higher rates. This aims to tackle growing wealth inequality by ensuring those who benefit most from asset growth contribute more fairly to public finances.
