Green Party candidate for Penge & Cator
“I am from Brighton but have lived in South London for the past decade. I have a history of voluntary community roles and activism shaped by my own experiences and a passion for positive change. I am now hoping to bring these skills, and my enthusiasm, to representing the Green Party and the residents of Penge and Cator on Bromley Council.”
“Having grown up in a low income family, I attended a state school in special measures and benefited from schemes such as Sure Start. My work in Youth Centres across London (many since closed during austerity) increased my understanding of the impact made by social programs and I am passionate about maintaining and building practical support for young people both in education and the community.”
“During the Covid pandemic I co-ordinated a group of several hundred stitchers in South London making scrubs for local hospitals. I am deeply concerned about cuts to an already underfunded health system and the privatisation of essential services.”
“I have experience working with diverse and marginalised people, previously volunteering at a Red Cross Destitution Centre for Refugees and regularly making and donating costumes to charities working with displaced children. I would advocate for better support for these underserved communities locally and continue to protest the ongoing crises in Palestine and beyond.”
“My key concerns at a local level are affordable housing and public transport, green spaces and ensuring adequate support for the elderly, disabled, families on low incomes, and other isolated or marginalised groups.”
“On a national level I am staunchly anti-austerity and aligned with the Green Party’s policies on environmental action, taxing the rich, and embracing the beauty and value in all of our diverse communities.”
