In Gulay's own words

I live in Bethnal Green West with my family, and I’m proud to call this community home.

I’m a visiting researcher at Middlesex University, focusing on how local politics and democracy can be strengthened to counter the rise of the far right.

I also serve as a co-op governor at Lawdale Junior School and was a Councillor in Hackney between 2006 and 2014, which taught me how to listen, solve problems and get things done. I’m committed to safer streets for women and girls and I’m part of a grassroots movement with parents promoting smartphone-free childhood.

I’m standing up for Bethnal Green West to make sure our communities’ interests are heard.
