In Raheem's own words

“I was born and raised in the West Midlands, and I am proud to have made Ladywood my home. I love being part of such a vibrant, diverse community, and I want to help make it better.

“I have worked in homeless services in our area and seen firsthand the harm done by Tory cuts and Labour’s poor governance. I know we need to work hard to improve our public services. I am ready to do that work.

"I have signed the Safer streets for Birmingham campaign pledge, and both the Brummies united against racism and Palestinian solidarity candidate pledges. Equality is at the heart of my politics and I will always stand up for marginalised people here in Ladywood and abroad.

"In Ladywood I will campaign for cleaner safer streets, improved public services, better regulation to prevent rogue landlords from abusing tenants, and will campaign from day one to get around the negotiating table to end the Birmingham bin strikes.

"I feel the Ladywood Regeneration has been handled abysmally, and I will campaign from day one for the consultation to restart with residents at the heart of planning and transparency in all aspects of the project.

“We need a bolder politics. Labour have spent years ignoring Ladywood and failing our whole city. It’s time for change. Vote Green!”
