In Ben's own words

Ben is a high school teacher and Head of Year, and has lived in Little Lever for the past six years, with strong family ties to the area. Through his work in education, Ben understands the challenges facing young people and families. He is passionate about improving support for schools, particularly SEND provision, and ensuring all young people have access to the opportunities and extracurricular activities they need to thrive.

Ben is actively involved in the community and recently took part in Bolton Hospice’s Strictly Learn to Dance 2026. He and his husband, who manages a local pub, are passionate about the area and committed to helping it thrive.

Ben is standing for the Green Party because he believes in fairness, inclusion, and bringing communities together. He wants to build on the work already done locally while offering a fresh, positive vision focused on community pride, safety, and opportunity for all.

His priorities include strengthening education and support for young people, improving and protecting local green spaces, and boosting community life through investment in high streets and local facilities. He also wants to ensure that new development is properly planned, with the infrastructure and transport needed to support it.
