Rory Matthew Fitzgerald
Green Party candidate for Hatch Lane & Highams Park North
**About Rory Fitzgerald** I have lived in Waltham Forest for 22 years and love green spaces (especially Epping Forest and Walthamstow marshes). I have been active in local politics for many years and care passionately about our borough. In my work I measure public opinion through surveys in the UK and across Europe and I care passionately about helping people be heard. I hope to bring that passion to my role as a councillor representing everyone in Hatch Lane & Highams Park North. I am a volunteer for a telephone service for the LGBT community, and I am good at listening to people, a skill often overlooked. **What Rory stands for** My priority is to ensure that all areas of the borough are represented in the council, as places like Hatch Lane & Highams Park North often get neglected compared to those closer to Walthamstow. I want to make protecting and improving our green spaces a priority going forward, as too often this gets forgotten. Prioritising a healthy biodiversity for current and future generations is essential. I also want to see the council do more for those on the lowest incomes who are suffering the most in the cost-of-living crisis. Particularly ensuring that there is access to truly affordable housing.
