In Tony's own words

Tony has lived in Highams Park for 16 years and works as a teacher, teaching A-level History. In 2014, he was first elected as your local Labour Councillor for Hale End and Highams Park. Tony is originally from North Yorkshire. He was attracted to Highams Park because of its brilliant green spaces, its community feel and proximity to Epping Forest.

Tony was a Governor of Handsworth Primary school between 2008-15. Both his children attended the school and both went on to attend Highams Park School. Tony is also actively involved in the Highams Park Plan, having been elected to its coordinating committee in its first year, and has been enthused by the high level of community involvement in decisions about the future of Highams Park.

If elected, Tony's priorities for Highams Park are:

• Celebrate and conserve our superb green spaces • Reopen The Regal as Highams Park’s cinema • Encourage residents to shop local in Highams Park • Advocate for improved play-spaces for children • Revitalise the Wadham Bridge area • Make our streets safer for women and girls • Make our streets cleaner and expand recycling • Work closely with The Highams Park Planning Group • Improve what’s on offer for young people locally
