In Viktor's own words

Viktor Westerdahl has lived in London for 20 years, mostly in rented poor quality accommodation, experiencing mould, vermin and no-fault eviction first hand. He is now a qualified architect and small business owner who lives in the Rush Common ward. Viktor cares deeply about housing and its potential to transform lives, as well as the harm a substandard and insecure home can cause.

Viktor has worked as an architect on housing-led schemes for councils across London which has provided him with hands on experience in the planning and delivery of mixed use housing schemes. As an elected representative, he will bring this expertise in-house to some of Lambeth’s central challenges; where and how to build new homes, how to refurbish existing estates and critically how to do so together with, and for the benefit of local residents.

Viktor also has experience in community-based work. As part of an artist collective, he helped establish a social enterprise that supports young people from underrepresented backgrounds to enter creative courses at university. He opposes neocolonial wars and the ongoing genocide in Gaza and will push for the council to disinvest accordingly.
