In Fareed's own words

Lambeth has been my home for seven years now, having moved down to London from Birkenhead for university.

Our community is a huge source of strength and dignity. From housing to health, I am motivated by how our community has risen up to the challenges, time and again.

I have experienced firsthand how poorly our community is served. When I asked for help in my own times of need, I saw how easy it was to slip through the net; particularly if you are from a minority background. I am standing to be your local champion because I know that we can - and must - do better.

In my working life, I do research and campaigns for charities to tackle the growing health inequalities, including access to mental health services for all.

I am here because I want to help. I want to see as responsive and inclusive local politics as our community in how it values and builds on the good that is already here; and speaks up for us when we need it. I hope you will give me that chance.
