In Samuel's own words

I’ve lived in the ward since 2012, when my wife and I got tired of the Parisian suburb, and decided to move to the UK. We have never regretted this decision, and thoroughly enjoyed living here with our 3 daughters. The youngest is currently at the Bulmershe School.

I’m a software engineer, and work at the ECMWF (European Center for Mid-range Weather Forecast, on Shinfield road). I commute with my bicycle of course: we've lived without a car for 5 years now. I'm part of Kidical Mass Reading, who organises family-friendly bike rides in town, to increase families’ confidence in cycling together, and to highlight the need for better cycling infrastructure.

If elected, I will campaign to reduce the place of cars in the public space, and promote the use of walking, cycling or public transports. Cars are necessary, but the fewer there are, the happier we get! I will also protect and improve the green space, and support our amazing local, independent businesses. We all have a role to play to fight climate change. At our level, this is also simply to improve the life of people in the borough!
