“I have lived in Waterbeach for over 20 years. I have been campaigning for many years to protect and improve Waterbeach as development occurs in and around the village. For the past 3 years I have been leading the development of policies on highways in the Waterbeach Neigbourhood Plan including active travel routes, safe routes to schools and measures to cut rat running. I founded Waterbeach cycling campaign around 4 years ago to improve the conditions for people travelling by bike or on foot. When the Waterbeach New Town planning guidelines were being developed I campaigned to have them improved to make it safer and more enjoyable for people to walk and cycle to the shops and schools. Most recently, I campaigned against the proposed routes for the Waterbeach-Cambridge public transport schemes which (still) could result in demolition of homes or damage to the countryside west of Landbeach.”
“I am passionate about protecting our environment, fighting climate change and increasing biodiversity. For a number of years I worked with people to help them reduce their carbon footprint. More recently, I have organised repair cafes which are great community events matching repairers with people who want their stuff repaired.”
“If elected I would work with residents of the whole ward of Landbeach, Milton and Waterbeach to address issues such as housing, environment and those arising from new development such as increasing traffic.”
