INTRODUCTION TO CANDIDATE Hi, I'm Dominic Martin, I am 22 years old and I am running to be your local councillor in the upcoming local elections on May 5th. I am a graduate in International Relations and Politics from Portsmouth University, a former local barista and now a telecommunications worker in the town centre. I have been involved in local politics since I was 14 years old, that's 8 years of listening to local issues and campaigning for a better Portchester, where I have lived all my life. It all started with a campaign to keep school crossing patrols in place. I came into politics due to family circumstances and observations of our local community; where I realised that if you want to get things done, if you want to change your community for the better, then politics combined with community action through community groups is how it's done. Now I want to put that into practice by being your local councillor.
