In Hira's own words

My name is Hira Dhillon, and I am standing to be the next local councillor for Cranford Ward following the sad passing of Cllr Sukhbir Dhaliwal.

Cranford is my home and it has been for 58 years. I have been involved in our community for a long time. I was a parent govenor of Cranford Junior School. I am currently a member of the Cranford Ward Panel, linking residents with the Police and Hounslow Council, and the Cranford Action Group which helps keep our streets clean.

I am retired now, but I spent most of my life working on the London Underground and railways as a guard, driver, and booking clerk.

It would be the honour of a lifetime to be chosen by my fellow residents of Cranford to represent them on Hounslow Council.

My pledges to you:

1. A local voice

I've lived here for nearly 60 years. I love Cranford and I will always put our community first.

2. Zero tolerance on antisocial behaviour

I'm already a member of the local Group which links residents with the Police and Hounslow Council. As your local Councillor I'll keep pushing police and the council to make Cranford safer.

3. State of the art Community Hub

Labour are building a new community centre and library at Meadowbank. I'll also be working with the Council to make sure that the current library site is used in a way which best suits Cranford.

4. Tough on flytipping and littering

Hounslow Labour have raised fines to the maximum legal limit, now we need to see them handed out to those who disrespect Cranford's streets and green spaces.
