In Katie's own words

I've loved living in Calderdale for 18 years, and am keen to offer my skills and experience to support my community. I work on disability and environmental issues, as well as peace, and social justice campaigns while living with a chronic illness. I'm involved with local singing, dancing, hiking and environmental groups.

As your green councillor I will:

* Speak up and campaign for an improvement in local services and amenities so they can be accessible to ALL residents, * Fight to ensure that development in our area is appropriate and sustainable with a council commitment to renewable energy and green technologies. * Promote and encourage communication, kindness, and inclusion in our communities.

* Prioritise an efficient, affordable and accessible public transport system. * Work hard to promote local initiatives to help combat climate change and flooding. * Help to grow the local green economy through supporting local business and social enterprises.

In the current climate of austerity, apathy and despair the green party offer hope of a more positive caring future.
