In Nilesh's own words

I’m proud to have lived in Headingley and Hyde Park all my life. I know this part of the city well, and I care passionately about our local community.

Over 15 years of volunteering here – along with raising in excess of £32,000 for Local and National Charities – has shown me how we can make life even better.

Through my work with Neighbourhood Watch – which covers over 2,000 households and over 4,800 members – I understand how important it is that everybody can feel safe and protected. Like all of our public servants, the police are overworked and overstretched, so we’re working with the local community to encourage and support them.

I’ve also been working with local refuse collection teams to tackle issues of missed bin collections and persistent fly tipping, and am in regular contact with highways on issues around parking and dangerous speeding in the ward.

We have a large student population in Headingley and Hyde Park, so I also work closely with the Universities, Unipol and local landlords to help protect student tenants and ensure their homes are well maintained and that they are being treated fairly.

Being elected as a City Councillor for this ward would empower me to do so much more on all of these issues. Every vote counts, so your support is greatly appreciated!
