In Joshua's own words

Hi. My name is Josh Alston, your Green Party candidate for Temple Newsam.

I am a historian, researcher and activist and I am standing because I believe that Leeds can be different.

We don’t need to accept everything getting gradually worse.

In housing, care, education and transport, we’ve seen our most important institutions fall into disrepair. We can all think of a system that used to work well in the past, but now barely works at all.

The main parties can’t fix this.

If elected my focus will be on restoring local democracy. This means a bottom-up approach to all areas of policy making.

I will do more to protect our tenants from exploitative landlords, who ask extortionate rates for poor quality housing.

I will celebrate our city’s diversity, organising and supporting community projects to make our community stronger and more united.
