In Max's own words

Hi, I am Max! I am Leeds born and bred and I am passionate about my local community. I strive to improve the place that I grew up in and want to ensure that all residents of East Leeds can feel proud of their area.

In 2023, I was at the protest against the sale of our historic Crossgates library building, and it reminded me of the time Labour wanted to sell Temple Newsam Golf club. Our Labour councillors voted against an independent amendment to save the library that year. This is quite the contrast with their earlier photo opportunities feigning disappointment at the sale which was planned by their own administration. We must find a permanent home for the library, as it is currently housed in the shopping centre and taxpayers money is being wasted on rent. As a councillor I would recognise the value of our community spaces and push to repurpose them for present-day needs.

Should you have any questions, I would be delighted to hear from you, and you can contact me at: eastleedstories@gmail.com
