In Catherine's own words

Hi. I’m Catherine, your Green Party candidate for Alwoodley.

I have been a keen climate activist for many years, supporting a wide range of local and national groups and events.

I am a steering group member of Alwoodley 2030 Climate Action Group and have assisted to grow and develop the group over the past 3 years. I have lead on many local projects including trees for schools, the 100 fruit trees project and initiating a local community energy group.

I enjoy nature creation and woodland management with Friends of Gair Woods and Friends of Adel Woods, and have recently joined the Citizens Science water testing group. I’m also a scout leader and am very keen to develop youth interfaith work.

I joined the Green Party because their commitment to social and environmental justice aligns with my values. I realised that to have a bigger impact on the future of our climate and communities, I needed to move from activism to politics.

I’m really excited to take on this role to increase the Green presence and conversations within Alwoodley and I’m looking forward to a Green Future!
