Armley is my home. It’s where I was born, went to school and raised my family. I’ve lived in Armley all my life. I went to local schools, as did my three sons. After leaving school, I became an apprentice plumber and worked in that job for a number of years. As a full time trade union representative, I stood up for working people to resolve disputes and deliver better working conditions. I’m standing to be your Councillor because I want to give back to the community that has given me so much. I’m hoping to be able to work as part of a strong and active team alongside Cllr Andy Parnham who has impressed me with his dedication and hard work. If you elect me I will be a local champion for our community all year round – not just at election time. I’ll hold regular surgeries to ensure I’m open and accessible to you and continue to keep you updated with regular newsletters and visits. I love our community and I want to make it a great place to grow up, work and live. I’m not a career politician – I want to be your Councillor because I am passionate about supporting all the good things that happen here and to tackle all the problems we know exist. It’s all about building pride in our community.
