“I'm a 30 year old Mathematician and Aerospace Engineer, I never saw myself as somebody who would run for office, but when I moved to Tyldesley a couple years back and started getting involved locally there and in Astley, I was floored by the controversy surrounding the Astley Warehouses and attempts to destroy the Greenbelt. The people living next to those warehouses have been treated terribly and the rest of us will suffer too from the traffic generated by these mistakes. At the heart of the problems facing Astley is a lack of influence on council matters that effect us. When decisions that effect Astley are made, we're not in the room. I thought if I ran for council and then pushed to get onto the Council Planning Committee, I could bring Astley's voice into those decisions. What I do for a living is analyse data and build systems that work, I believe I have the skillset to scrutinise planning decisions and come to better decisions than the ones that are being made now.”
