In John's own words

I am honoured delighted to be the Liberal Democratic candidate for the Lewisham West and Penge Constituency where my family and I have lived in Forest Hill for 15 years.

I am proud to be a Liberal Democrat and I have been a party member since the mid 80's.

I was a Lewisham Councillor on Lewisham Council from 2006-2010 and I was the Lewisham and Greenwich Constituency candidate at the London Assembly elections in 2012.

I am the Chair of the Board of trustees at Wide Horizons Outdoor Education Trust a national charity that provides life-changing outdoor education to over 50,000 children and young people each year. Wide Horizons works with many schools in both Lewisham and Bromley. I have been volunteering with Wide Horizons since 2006.

I am passionate about my local community and working to make improvements. As an elected councilor I helped to Save Forest Hill Pools and to get them rebuilt. I opposed the closure of Forest Hill Library and after the decision was taken I have worked to support the community Library where I sit on the management committee .

More recently I have been campaigning to keep our direct train services to East Croydon and to hold Thames Water to account for the number of large water leaks in the local area.

I am passionate about the environment about Young people and education and on improving housing.

I am fighting to oppose a hard Brexit and to keep Britain open, tolerant and a united place to live.

I believe that Lewisham West and Penge deserves a hard working MP who is committed to helping local residents.
