In Charlotte's own words

**About Charlotte Lafferty**

I first moved to Grove Green (Leyton) over 15 years ago and I’m proud to be part of the community here. I’ve been a Unite union rep and have worked for the Green Party for the past seven years in membership growth and engagement.

I’m a queer woman from a working-class background and have spent my adult life renting, so understand first-hand the pressures people face from austerity. Before this, I worked in cleaning, hospitality, customer service and marketing.

I’ve been involved in local campaigns and community organising, with a track record of bringing people together to create meaningful change.

**What Charlotte stands for**

I’m standing to be a strong, independent and Green voice for the community. After years of development that has not properly involved local people, I believe residents must be at the heart of decision-making. I am committed to tackling the housing crisis by prioritising genuinely affordable and social housing over developer interests.

I supports safer streets through community-led, holistic approaches, and I’m dedicated to making Waltham Forest a true Borough of Sanctuary.

I believe climate action must go hand in hand with social justice, ensuring a fairer, greener future that works for everyone.
