Councillors Mehrban Sadiq, Clare Penny-Evans, and Lara Ellis are known as the Heaton Team. They have achieved a transformation in Heaton over the past years. You can see them working away through all weathers year round to serve Heaton’s residents, businesses and community organisations. It’s The Heaton Team who brought colour to the benches and bike racks, lit Chillingham Road with fairy lights in the trees, brought improvements to the back lanes, got the planters blooming again and much more. The Heaton Team are actively tackling graffiti and are working to re- introduce appropriate trees to Heaton Streets. Mehraban works in the fire service, Clare’s background is in mediation, and Lara is experienced in mental health support. They work to their collective strengths, a hardworking and passionate team unafraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in to whatever needs to be done.
