In Ajaz's own words

I'm proud to call Oxford my lifelong home. Born and raised here, l've always been deeply committed to our community and have worked hard to make it a better place for everyone.

Whether it's supporting local organisations or helping young people thrive, l've always believed in building a stronger, happier Oxford.

In 2021, I was elected as a city councillor with the aim of making a real difference for residents. During this time, I saw the introduction of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs). While I initially waited to see the evidence, it quickly became clear to me - and the vast majority of residents - that these schemes don't work. Instead, they've increased congestion and caused frustration across our city. I've spoken out against them because I believe policies that fail to serve our community should be abandoned.

After leaving the Labour Party, I continued to represent the people of Lye Valley. Whether it was resolving an elderly resident's 9-month battle with Thames Water or transforming the long-unused café at Shotover View into the thriving Waste2Taste community hub, l've always worked to solve the issues that matter most to you.

I'm now standing as a candidate for the Independent Oxford Alliance in the May 2025 County Council elections. This group stands for truly independent representation - free from party politics - so I can focus entirely on what's best for our community. Together, we can fight for our neighbourhoods, protect our streets, and create a brighter future for our children.

This is our city, our home, and our chance to stand together. It's now or never.
